Who is this training designed for?
It depends on the module. Our standard Privacy Awareness Training module is designed for any staff in any role. By contrast the modules in our Privacy Professionals Training series are designed for people in particular roles, or with particular tasks to do. Each module has its own web page with a full course description to tell you more.
Which privacy law does this training cover?
It depends on the module. Some modules are specific to a particular Act (like the Australian Privacy Act 1988), while others are general enough to apply regardless of what jurisdiction or sector you are in. Each module has its own web page with a full course description to tell you more.
Do I need to download any special software or big files?
No. The training module is hosted on our website. However if you use a mobile device you may need to download an app; see ‘Can I do the training from my smartphone or tablet?’
Can I do the training from my smartphone or tablet?
Possibly. Not all mobile devices are alike, and they are updated all the time. If you use a smartphone or tablet you may be prompted to first download an app in order to access the training content. If you have a problem generating a Certificate of Completion at the end, we recommend that you complete the assessment questions on a desktop or laptop computer instead.
How soon will I get access to the training module?
Immediately for online purchases. As soon as you have created your account and paid via PayPal, you will receive one email with your purchase receipt, and another email with a link so that you can login to your account, and access your training module. Check your spam/junk email filters if you can’t find these emails.
What if I don’t have a PayPal account?
You don’t need a PayPal account, you just need any credit or debit card. PayPal is simply the payment gateway we use to process your payment. (But if you do have a PayPal account, you can use that too.)
What if I don’t have a credit card or debit card? Can you invoice me instead?
Unless you have more than 10 users, unfortunately the answer is no. Like most online shopping experiences, our systems are set up to take instant payment via a credit or debit card, and then deliver the product to you immediately. It is a fully automated system, which means lower handling costs, and a lower price and quick service for you. If you don’t have access to a corporate credit or debit card, you could try paying with a personal card and seeking reimbursement the way you would for petty cash. (But check with your boss first!)
We have more than 10 potential users. Can we get a discount? How does that work?
Yes you can! If you have more than ten staff to complete a particular module, we offer multi-user subscriptions with a lower price-per-user, and a longer subscription period.

To create a multi-user subscription you simply need to email us an Excel spreadsheet containing the list of your users (first name, surname and email address), tell us which module/s you want access to, and let us know if you want to pay by PayPal/credit card/debit card, or be invoiced.
We have LOTS of users. Is there a cheaper option for us?
Yes! If you have more than 200 staff to complete the Privacy Awareness Training module, it will be cheaper for you to consider our fixed-fee options. (In fact, even if you have fewer than 200 users, you might want to consider our fixed-fee options for their other benefits.) We want a program that is branded for our company. Can you offer that?
We want to be able to centrally monitor who has completed the training. Can you offer that?

I stopped my training part-way through. How do I get back into it?
You can log back in at www.salingerprivacy.com.au/account/ Once you are back at the correct module, you can choose whether to resume at the point where you left off, or start again from the beginning.
I failed the quiz, can I sit it again?
Yes. You can do the assessment again by refreshing your browser and starting over.
My certificate won’t print, what can I do?
You will only be able to generate a certificate at the end of your training module if you successfully passed the assessment. If you didn’t pass, you can do the assessment again by refreshing your screen and starting over.
If you are using a mobile device, you might not be able to generate a certificate at the end. Please use a desktop or laptop to log in to your account and do the assessment again to generate your certificate; see ‘Can I do the training from my smartphone or tablet?’
There are other technical reasons you might not be able to print your certificate. Since the ‘print results’ feature launches a file in a new window, it is common for pop-up blockers to prevent the file from loading. Therefore, you may need to disable any pop-up blockers in your browser.
If you continue to experience difficulties with the ‘print results’ feature, try updating your Adobe Flash Player. You can also try clearing the cache in your browser, and/or reset your browser to its default settings, then close all browser windows for the changes to take effect, and test your program again.
The training module is too small to read, how can I make it bigger?
If the program looks too small in your browser (for example if there is lots of white space around it), you should be able increase the size by zooming in. For example, I use CTRL + the scroll key on my mouse to zoom in or out (make a page look bigger or smaller).
The training module seems to freeze part-way through, what do I do?
If you are progressing through your training module but then it seems to ‘freeze’ and you see a spinning circle and it won’t move to the next part of the training, you may need to download the latest version of Adobe Flash to make the program play properly in your browser. If that doesn’t fix it, try opening your training program in a different browser. Browser settings get updated all the time, and sometimes a new version of a browser will create a new glitch until the next update.
The training module won’t launch at all, what do I do?
If instead of a starting page you are seeing a spinning circle, or if you get an error message about Playback or Flash Player, your browser settings might need to be changed to allow local playback of published content. See an explanation of what to do for your type of browser here.
Can I share this training module with my workmates?
No. Our eLearning modules are protected by copyright, and are strictly for your non-commercial use, to educate and inform yourself about privacy topics. Each person needs to have their own login and password to access the training module. Multi-user subscriptions are available.
