What privacy law does this eBook cover?
It depends on the eBook. Some of our publications, like Demystifying De-identification, Big Data and our guide to Algorithms, are about privacy laws and practices regardless of what country, jurisdiction or sector you are in, or which privacy law regulates your organisation.
Two eBooks are specific to the Australian Privacy Act 1988: The Privacy Act in a Nutshell, and Untangling the APPs. Three of our publications are specific to NSW laws: PPIPA in Practice, Untangling the IPPs and HPPs and Conducting Workplace Surveillance.
How many people can share this eBook?
Our eBooks are protected by copyright, and are strictly for your non-commercial use, to educate and inform yourself and your employees or colleagues about privacy or surveillance legislation. You can only download the eBook once. However you may share your copy with up to 10 other people in your organisation, as a PDF or print-out. For more information see our Terms of Service.
If more than 10 people need to use the eBook, please purchase a second copy.
What format does the eBook come in?
Our eBooks are PDF files.
How soon will I get access to my eBook?
Immediately. As soon as you have paid, you will receive an email with your purchase receipt and a link so that you can download your eBook.
How do I pay online?
You can pay online using a credit or debit card. Card payments are processed through the Stripe online payment platform, so we don’t see your card details.
What if I don’t have a credit card or debit card? Can you invoice me instead?
Except for PPIPA in Practice, or for eBooks included in a Compliance Kit, unfortunately the answer is no. Like most online shopping experiences, our systems are set up to take instant payment via a credit or debit card, and then deliver the product to you immediately. It is a fully automated system, which means lower handling costs, and a lower price and quick service for you. If you don’t have access to a corporate credit or debit card, you could try paying with a personal card and seeking reimbursement the way you would for petty cash. (But check with your boss first!)
Can I have a receipt / tax invoice?
You will be emailed an instant purchase receipt / tax invoice, which includes the link to download your eBook.
Why didn’t my receipt/eBook arrive?
If you don’t receive your purchase receipt and link to download your eBook within a few minutes of completing your purchase, please check your spam/junk mail folder. Because it is a system-generated email, some systems might think it is spam. If you used a work email address, please check with your IT department, in case it is caught in their spam filter.
If you clicked on the link to download your eBook, but it doesn’t open in your PDF reader, check the Downloads folder in your web browser.
