Managing risk
Managing third party and data security risk
Guidance to manage your compliance when outsourcing or using the cloud
Who this is for
Privacy, legal, procurement and IT teams involved in choosing and managing third party suppliers
What is included
- Template: Contract clauses
- Checklist: Cloud computing and the cross-border disclosure rule
- eLearning Module: Third Party Contractors, Outsourcing and Cloud Computing
How to use these resources
For an overview of your legal requirements when using third party contractors (including cloud services and overseas service providers), start by watching the eLearning Module: Third Party Contractors, Outsourcing and Cloud Computing.
Then review the Checklist, which includes advice about how the Cross-Border Disclosure rule applies to cloud computing, and questions to ask of vendors/suppliers.
Finally, follow the instructions in the template Contract Clauses to develop clauses suitable to be included in agreements you are drafting or negotiating with third party suppliers, vendors, contractors or other companies or individuals. Once you have customised these clauses to suit your organisation, you can require all teams to include these clauses, or look for similar requirements, whenever they are dealing with third parties, no matter the size or type of contract or arrangement. The template also includes the extra clauses you will need for your data processors if you are regulated by the GDPR as well.
