  • 12 December 2008 - Salinger Privacy has just completed a PIA for Federal Treasury on Stage 1 of a three-year, $10M project with IBM to develop Standard Business Reporting
  • 23 September 2008 - our client the Victorian Department of Justice has won the 6th annual HP-International Association of Privacy Professionals' Privacy Innovation Award for its privacy education program, designed to instill PIA processes in project management, policy development and formal training efforts for all public sector employees across Victoria.  Last month we ran training on PIAs for Victorian public sector officials, hosted by the Victorian Department of Justice as part of Privacy Awareness Week.
  • 11 September 2008 - our Director Anna Johnston was quoted in a Sydney Morning Herald article, "Car tracker devices 'drive employees over edge'", on the use of GPS devices in vehicles to track employees.  Anna noted employers' obligations under NSW law.

  • 4 September 2008 - publication of our Special Briefing on handling privacy complaints
  • 2 September 2008 - Salinger Privacy ran specialist privacy training for IT managers and other data custodians at the University of Western Sydney
  • 26 August 2008 - as part of Privacy Awareness Week, Salinger Privacy ran training on PIAs for Victorian public sector officials, hosted by the Victorian Department of Justice.  The feedback we received was extremely positive, with one comment noting it was "great to have such an experienced and creditable external speaker".
  • 18 August 2008 - Salinger Privacy has just completed a privacy audit for Southern Cross University
  • 29 July 2008 -The NSW Law Reform Commission today released its Consultation Paper, Privacy Legislation in New South Wales.  PPIPA In Practice, our annotated guide to the NSW legislation, is referenced throughout by the Law Reform Commission.
  • 17 July 2008 - publication of our Special Briefing on voluntary notification of data security breaches
  • 14 May 2008 - Salinger Privacy Director Anna Johnston delivers a presentation on 'emails and privacy' at NSW Parliament House, as part of a half-day program for NSW privacy and FOI officers on managing email
